Stepping into the New Year, I will be offering four exciting new Webinars; one per month from January through April. Each hour-long inspirational class is only $9 and can be watched wherever, whenever, and as many times as you wish, after the live broadcast. Register for all four and get a 10% discount. The kick-off Webinar, A Striking, Sustainable Flower Garden by Design, takes place Thursday, January 25th. I’ll be covering 10 tips for healthier, more glorious gardens that are appreciated by both gardeners and pollinators. Topics include great plants as well as accurate site assessment to better match plants to your site, as well as maintenance practices, from watering to weeding to natural insect control.
One focus will be living mulches – drought-tolerant perennials that carpet the ground with color and suppress weeds. Save money and labor by eliminating yearly applications of mulch! Many of the Carex (sedge) make great ground covers. Carex laxiculmis ‘Hobb’ (Blue Bunny) has frosty blue leaves with tiny yellow flowers in the spring. It prefers part sun to full shade in Zones 5 – 9. Its growth is slow to moderate. This is just one of a number of cool ‘carpets’ you will discover in this first Webinar.
