About the Fine Gardening Institute

The premier program takes place on Saturday, April 6, from 8:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (registration 8:00 - 8:45 a.m.) at Berkshire Botanical Garden in Stockbridge, MA. Topics include:

  • Site Assessment and Bed Preparation (sunlight and soil analysis, bed preparation (for new and existing gardens)
  • Plant placement for three seasons of bloom from perennials, shrubs and annuals
  • Sensational perennials, flowering shrubs and annuals that benefit both gardener and pollinator
  • Clever design tips for ever-blooming, low-maintenance gardens, including teaching examples from before and after design projects
  • Routine and seasonal garden care including: recommended mulches & fertilizers; eliminating weeds; dividing perennials; pruning flowering shrubs; putting gardens to bed in fall; and much more!

Fine Gardening Institute Registration

The registration fee includes:

  • extensive handouts and gardening catalogs
  • light lunch
  • class gift
  • refreshments
  • door prizes
  • Complimentary weekend admission to Berkshire Botanical Garden the weekend of the event - April 6th or 7th - a $32 - $38 value)
  • CEU form for Master Gardeners and green industry professionals

Registration Rate: $130 per person for non-members of Berkshire Botanical Garden/$110 for members of Berkshire Botanical Garden.

Cancellation Policy: If you need to withdraw your registration from this program, please contact Berkshire Botanical Garden as soon as possible so they can make your space available to others. If you give them at least 7 days’ notice prior to the event, they will refund you less an administrative fee equaling 25% of the program cost.
