Here comes Peter Cottontail

I delight in tiptoeing out to my gardens early in the morning. No lawn mowers, cars, garbage trucks or barking dogs to intrude on the morning hush. I look for fresh dew on emerging daffodils; inhale the intoxicating fragrance of white forsythia (Abeliophyllum) (pictured right); and delight in the swelling buds of the Enkianthus (pictured below).

Magical. I am in heaven as I listen to the song birds and survey the lush spring landscape until I see a slight movement in a garden. Is that a rabbit nibbling on the tulip foliage?! I race to the garage and grab Plantskydd Rabbit and Small Critter Repellent, an organic taste and smell repellant that also fertilizes plants. It keeps rabbits, chipmunks and voles at bay. I shake some granules around the tulips plus other plants that might look like rabbit candy. That will hold them at bay for a good three months. Bye Bye Peter.
