Tips for growing veggies in a drought

I am a neophyte when it comes to veggie gardening. Given my limited growing space at my condo, most of this ‘valuable real estate’ goes to evaluating ornamental plants (annuals, perennials, flowering shrubs). My ‘veggie garden’ consists of two tomato plants growing in containers.

Plant-tone EspomaThankfully my friends at Espoma have a fantastic gardening blog that features how to care for all different kinds of plants – edibles and ornamentals. All of Espoma’s products (fertilizers, pesticides, potting mixes, lawn care products) are organic. I have been a huge fan of Espoma since I started gardening over 25 years ago. I’m praying that we don’t have the same awful drought that much of the Northeast had last summer…but just in case we do, I thought Espoma’s recent blog on growing veggies in a drought (many of the tips apply to ornamentals as well!) was very helpful.
