Stonegate, an Amazing Organic Estate Farm

Garden Design magazine once again hits a home run with their spring, 2018 issue. My friend, Adrian Bloom’s masterwork, Bressingham Gardens, was featured in the last issue. The springmagazine tips a hat to another friend’s horticultural expertise, Matthew Benson. Matthew is not only a fantastic plantsman, author and cook, he is also an award-winning photographer. Matthew’s organic estate farm, Stonegate Farm, is located in the Hudson Valley, 60 miles north of NYC. He grows all types of organic produce – both for consumption and photographic purposes. Edible flowers from mustards, broccoli raab, and chives are harvested along with the ‘Lollo Rossa’ salad greens to give the mesclun an extra boost of flavor, texture, form, and color. “Wonderful taste is a given. But I also want everything to look beautiful,” Benson says. Learn more about Matthew, his farm, and the beautiful food he grows in the spring, 2018 issue.
