Proven Winners Charm Supertunias

PW_LOGOProven Winners Supertunias are superior petunias that put many others to shame. The fact that they require no deadheading, are highly heat and disease resistant, and produce masses of blooms spring through fall, are just a handful of distinguishing attributes. Supertunias also make great substitutes for Million Bells (Calibrachoa) in landscapes without excellent drainage. Million Bells hate wet or poorly draining soils, while petunias, especially Supertunias, are much more forgiving.

The Proven Winners Charm series stands out for their small to very small flowers that are similar in size to a large Superbells (Calibrachoa). All ‘Charmers’ are sun lovers and prized by hummingbirds and butterflies, but disliked by deer.

supertunia_rose_blast_charm_4There are three newcomers to the Charm series. The first, Rose Blast Charm, blew me away. I’m amazed by its pink and rose, bi-color flowers that are conspicuously showier than my former favorite, Supertunia Raspberry Blast. Supertunia Rose Blast Charm is a sun-lover with slightly more petite flowers than many other Supertunias. It grows 8” to 12” tall with a girth of 18” to 30”. It outperforms Raspberry Blast with its tighter growth habit and earlier blooms, resulting in a longer blooming season.

supertunia_indigo_charm_improved_mono_0Supertunia Indigo Charm Improved, with its vivid blue-purple flowers, is the earliest blooming of all Supertunias and keeps the show rolling until a hard frost. It grows to 6” to 10” with a 20” to 28” spread.

supertunia_morning_glory_charm_tagSupertunia Morning Glory Charm features blue-violet flowers with clear white eyes. This combination is stunning! Morning Glory Charm reaches 8” to 12” tall and will spread 18” to 30”.

So plan to invite one, if not the whole gang, of Supertunia Charms to your garden party this year. You’ll be delighted by their good behavior and captivated by their beauty.
