June Garden Tours

 
There are some great garden tours scheduled in June, all of which raise money for terrific not-for-profit organizations.  Don’t delay in purchasing tickets for these or you may get closed out.

Bethlehem Garden Club’s 15th Annual Garden Tour and Plant Sale. Wednesday, June 8 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  All types of gardens will be highlighted in the Town of Bethlehem: small-medium-large, formal and informal.  Tickets are $10 in advance; $15 the day of the tour.  Advance tickets are available until June 1 and may be obtained by phoning 518-439-6833 or emailing BGCGardenTours@hotmail.com. Day-of-tour tickets may be purchased at the Plant Sale or in the parking lot of Price Chopper plazas in Slingerlands or Glenmont.  The Plant Sale will be held at the Delmar Presbyterian Church, 585 Delaware Avenue in Delmar at the corner of Cherry Avenue.  It will open at 3:00 p.m. and run until 7:00 p.m.

Soroptimist International of Schenectady’s Garden Tour.  Saturday, June 18 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  Nine beautiful and diverse gardens are being featured in Schenectady County, two in Schenectady, one in Niskayuna, two in Rotterdam, and four in Scotia/Glenville.  Tickets are $12 in advance (buy five and get one free!); $15 the day of the tour.  Garden tour tickets may be purchased at The Petal Pusher; Scott’s Hallmark; Felthousen’s Florist; The Open Door Bookstore; and Experience and Design.  My two gardening books will be for sale at the tour with a portion of every book sold being donated to Soroptimist.  For tour questions call Frieda 885-9710, cell 339-3119 or Christina at 705-2101.  For more information regarding SI of Schenectady, please visit http://www.soroptimistofschenectady.org/.  

Soroptimist International of Saratoga’s 17th Secret Garden Tour.  Sunday, June 26.  11 a.m. – 5 p.m.  Creative urban spaces, lush suburban gardens, fabulous water features & more.  Tickets are $18 in advance; $22 the day of tour.  Tickets may be purchased at Saratoga Springs Visitor Center from June 6 – June 25.  You may also order online and get more information at http://www.soroptimistsaratoga.org/ or call (518) 581-1201 X4184.  I will be doing a book signing and answering questions from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Schuyler Pond, one of the gardens featured on the tour.  A portion of every book sold will be donated to Soroptimist
