More Plant Sales and Open Houses
As announced in my last newsletter, I will be digging up the large perennial bed
on
the west side of my house to make room for a driveway that
will allow for safer stepping for my husband (especially in winter). I already
have my spade in hand and am ready to ‘have at it’ for the Wednesday,
June 6 and Thursday, June 7 plant and garage sale. The hours are from noon –
5:00 p.m. Again, noon to 5:00 p.m. The bed contains perennials for
sun and shade, flowering shrubs and alliums bulbs. Plus I will have various
garden gadgets, containers and household items for sale. Heck, I might just
throw in the kitchen sink!

Given my new full time job in Latham, I have
made the difficult, but realistic, decision to also downsize some other
gardens. Many of you know my property. In the backyard there are four gardens
surrounding a central antique urn (prior to this there was a water fountain). I
will be digging up the two quadrants farthest from
the shed and sodding this area. I will also
be reducing the size of the part sun/part shade border that runs along my
neighbor’s garage on the east side of the backyard. The ‘goodies’ in these beds
will be bagged and for sale on Wednesday, June 27 and Thursday, June 28
from noon – 5:00 p.m. Noon – 5:00 p.m. I am confident my property
will still have plenty of color and garden beds to entertain me, and others.
There will just be a few less beds, and I certainly had a lot to start with!

: Take I 87 to Exit
12. Turn left on Rt. 67 West and go 3.3 miles to the traffic light intersection
at Rt. 50. Turn right (North) on Rt. 50 and go into the center of Ballston Spa.

intersection). Go 2/10 mile on Malta and then turn right onto Chapman Street
(Malta Avenue Middle School is on the corner). 44 Chapman is 1/10 mile up on
