June 7 and 8 Triathlon

WHY NOT TRY A TRIATHLON?

As many of you know, I’m always bragging on my twin sister, Kim, who is an amazing triathlete.  Several years ago she was ranked 17 in the United States in her age bracket. (This picture is her in the Kona Ironman a few years ago).  A triathlon is a combination of swim, bike and run segments.  Last year my sister and her husband decided to start their own race!  It’s called the White Mountains Triathlon and it’s scheduled for June 7 & 8 in Franconia Notch, New Hampshire.  Participants can choose to sign-up for a new and improved half iron distance layout, an Olympic distance course, or a short course off-road triathlon.   Athletes of all ages and abilities can have the chance to swim in the Notch’s Echo Lake, ride in the White Mountain National Forest, and run along paths in the Franconia Notch State Park.  To learn more about this fun weekend, as well as lodging accommodations, visit http://whitemountainstriathlon.com.  If I didn’t have to work that weekend at Estabrook’s Nursery, I would be right in the middle of all this fun – well, actually more towards the rear….
