Fine Gardening Institute
Registrations are rolling in for the ever-popular Fine Gardening Institute scheduled for Saturday, September 17 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at The Factory Eatery in Ballston Spa. This A – Z program covers the tricks of the trade for designing and caring for low-maintenance perennial gardens. Topics include design techniques for ever-blooming gardens; top performing perennials, shrubs and annuals; shortcuts for maintaining your gardens including weeding, fertilizing, mulching, watering, and plant divisions; preparing new beds and improving soil in existing ones; and more. Attendees will conduct a pH test on a soil sample from their garden as well as participate in plant divisions. The last segment of the workshop from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. will be in my gardens, weather permitting.
The class includes a continental breakfast, lunch buffet, garden gift, perennial division, soil pH test, extensive handouts, PowerPoint presentations, garden catalogs and a chance to win door prizes.
