DESIGN INSPIRATION FROM A BREATHTAKING LANDSCAPE IN NEW YORK’S HUDSON VALLEY
The stunning, naturalistic gardens featured in Garden Design’s article, Perfect Pairing, will have you shaking your head in awe. Even more so when you learn that the 6-acre property in Ulster County, New York is irrigation-free. Many native perennials, shrubs and trees are combined to create a year-round tapestry. Many of my favorite plants, including smooth and panicle Hydrangeas (Hydrangea arborescens and H. paniculata), Mountain Fleece (Persicaria ‘Firetail’), purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea), Japanese Forest grass (Hakonechloa m. ‘Aureola’) and Siberian Bugloss (Brunnera ‘Silver Heart’) are repeated throughout the property. Gorgeous, large-leaved Hosta, coupled with native ferns, welcome visitors as they stroll shady walkways. This twelve-page, engaging article is filled with 18 stunning photographs.
