Plants with Snow in their name

Here we go again!  Another snowstorm is in full force with over 12” predicted, on top of 3 feet we’ve already received in the past 10 days.  Being the ‘perennial’ optimist that I am, rather than growl under my breath as I shovel snow, I decided to think of remarkable plants that have ‘snow’ in their name.

Here are ten plants that I quickly thought of (I’ve grown 6 out of the 10):

‘Snow Storm’ Spirea

Flowering shrub.  Sun, blooms spring – early summer, 3’-5’ tall, Z4-8, Deer resistant.  Photo Proven Winners

‘Summer Snowflake’ Viburnum

(Viburnum plicatum f. tomentosum) Flowering shrub.  Sun – Part Sun, blooms summer-fall, 5’-8’ tall, Z5-8.  Unlike other viburnums, the lacecap flowers bloom into the fall. Photo Monrovia
