Eye-Lash Grass

bouteloua-blonde-ambition_High_Country_Gardens_Close_Up‘Blonde Ambition’ was discovered and introduced by David Salman of High Country Gardens. This native grass won the 2011 Plant Select Award. It has striking horizontal eyelash-like, chartreuse flowers that appear in midsummer. The grass gets 2.5’ – 3’ tall, prefers full sun, tolerates a wide range of soil types, and is hardy in Zones 4 – 9. Great companion plantings include Russian Sage, Sedum ‘Maestro’, goldenrod (Solidago) ‘Fireworks and Helenium ‘Salsa’. (photos High Country Gardens)
